These do not replace your running-man exit lights
Be clear about what this is. The illuminated running-man unit over a door is a life safety device under the Ontario Building Code and the Fire Code, it has to be lit and it has to work on emergency power. An engraved lamacoid is not that, and nothing here changes that requirement.
What an engraved sign does is the rest of the job: the door that is not an exit and gets mistaken for one, the stair that keeps getting blocked, the muster point in the parking lot, the route markers down a long corridor, and the "FIRE EXIT KEEP CLEAR" on the outside of the door that the illuminated unit never covers.
Where engraved egress signs earn their keep
Assembly point signs live outside, year round, in the weather. Phenolic does not fade out like a printed coroplast sign and does not peel like vinyl on a post. We drill them for post, fence or wall mounting.
Green on white is the safe-condition convention in both CSA Z321 and ISO 7010, which is what we engrave unless you ask for something else.

Exit & Egress Signs: common questions
Can I use this instead of a lit exit sign?
No. Where the building code requires an illuminated exit sign on emergency power, you need that unit. These are permanent engraved signs for everything around it: fire exit doors, keep-clear notices, route markers and assembly points.
Do you make assembly point signs for outside?
Yes. Engraved phenolic holds up outdoors far better than printed stock, and we drill it for a post, a fence or a wall. Tell us the muster point number or wording and we engrave it.
What colour are exit and emergency signs?
Green with white text and symbols. Green means safe condition and the way out, which is why first aid, eyewash and egress signs share it.
