A rule you post once
Prohibition signs get argued with, which is why they get taken down, written over and quietly removed. A printed sign peels off a door in a season. An engraved lamacoid is screwed on and the message is cut into the material, so removing it takes a screwdriver and a decision, not a fingernail.
Red circle, white plate
ISO 7010 prohibition symbols are a red circle with a 45-degree bar over a black pictogram on white. A lamacoid is a two-colour plate, so we engrave the circle, the bar and the pictogram all in red on white: the same instantly readable shape, in a material that outlasts the printed version by years.
Any wording can go underneath. We also engrave site-specific lines: unit numbers, fire route by-law references, or the department the rule came from.
Fire routes and parking
Fire route signs are set by the municipal by-law where the property sits, and most by-laws prescribe the exact size, wording and colours of the roadway sign itself. Those are regulated signs. The engraved plates we make are for everything alongside them: loading bays, reserved spots, dock doors and the "do not block" plates on gates and panels.

Can you make a fire route sign?
Municipal by-laws prescribe the exact size, wording and colours of the roadway fire route sign, so those have to be bought to the by-law. We engrave the plates that go with them: do-not-block notices, reserved and loading-zone plates, and gate and door signs.
What colour is a prohibition sign?
A red circle and diagonal bar over the symbol, on white. We engrave red on white phenolic, so the red circle is the plate surface and the white is the core showing through, or the other way around.
